Express Voice Studio is the only music school with 90% of its students being over the age of 18. Where most traditional music schools cater to kids, our coaches are passionate about working with adults. Their experience being actively involved in the shaping of their own artistry and career gives them an unprecedented ability to offer lessons which truly serve adult students. EXPRESS is proud to offer private lessons specifically designed for adults, emphasizing personalized instruction tailored to individual needs and learning objectives. Our adult singing lessons cover a variety of styles and genres, from opera to rock and jazz and everything in between.
At EVS, we believe in nurturing aspiring musicians from an early age. Our voice lessons help kids discover their own voice, fostering self-awareness and individuality. Our voice lessons for kids aged 15 and above are crafted to build confidence, technique, and a love for music. Our patient and skilled instructors make learning fun and engaging, helping young singers to discover their unique voices and develop their skills.
At this time we ask for ages 15+ due to our Ottawa lessons only being online. We find virtual lessons are typically difficult for younger students to stay engaged through.

New to singing? No problem! EVS offers singing lessons for beginners that focus on building a strong foundation and developing your singing voice. Vocal lessons are accessible to everyone, regardless of prior musical ability or experience, and provide numerous benefits for beginners.
Our friendly and encouraging instructors will help you develop essential skills such as breath control, pitch accuracy, and vocal strength. A great teacher is able to make you feel comfortable in a supportive environment while pushing you just enough that you are not overwhelmed but you are improving. In your first lesson, we encourage you to be transparent with your teacher. Let them know if you have a desire to sing a specific genre like classical, or share with them that you need to feel regularly encouraged to keep your courage up. You will never be pushed into performing unless you want to– we prioritize what you are interested in and giving you a fantastic experience.

I love everything about my lessons with Ian! His approach is creative and scientific, he always strikes the right balance between challenging and reinforcing, adapting to his students' needs and goals. I have taken songwriting, vocal classes & piano lessons with Verona for only 2 months and I have already seen an immense improvement in my songwriting skills, my vocabulary and understanding of singing + songwriting. Verona helps you understand what she’s saying by providing imagery & her own tactical experiences. She also offers vocal production & explains to you exactly what she’s doing so that you know for yourself and makes sure you really understand why what she’s teaching is so important! She’s mastered her craft and you can tell how much she truly loves teaching, and singing! Happy to have the pleasure of working with her. Truly recommend. I highly recommend Ian! I found my teacher Ian through express and I could not speak more highly of him! Ian's teaching is superb and has really pushed me to become the singer I want to be. I absolutely LOVE Tylor. I started singing last May and I was super nervous about it. Singing is extremely personal and vulnerable, and for me it’s been so hard to feel comfortable enough to go to lessons because of how insecure I am about my voice. Once I summoned the courage to finally take lessons, I have to say that Tylor really went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and safe.

Jordanne is great teacher! For the first time I contact her, I am very pleased. She took the time to truly understand what I needed. And, the first time I met her she made me feel so comfortable that I felt at ease to express myself. She made me do some exercise to see what my blocage was. Then gave me a routine, which is exactly what I needed. It have been only 3 courses but I can experience the change and improvement. And not only in singing and piano. I wasn’t aware of all the tension I use to have in my body. Now that I am conscious of that, I am able to relax my body and feel a deep connection.
