Understanding support is key to any healthy and beautiful singing. Lets discover what it means for your body to support the singing voice and you will finally experience free and powerful singing! We will also work on increasing vocal range. Learning to sing with or without vibrato, as different emotions and styles call for different approaches to vibrato. For more advanced singers we will begin to explore resonance and placement.
You can also expect our work to be focused on breath so that you can sing longer phrases. This will incorporate learning how to speak with support so that voice in speach and song don’t feel so abstract. Le’s Find a natural core voice. From there we can explore affects and style: What does it means to be breathy, raspy, etc.
Sing higher, louder, and longer.
Lyrics. lyrics. lyrics. These sessions will hone in on your ability to craft emotional, resonating songs through words. With the lyrics as your starting point, Kaden will then work with you on taking the meaning of the text and reflecting it in the music of your songs: what chords will you choose, what motifs make sense within the song.
“I believe in starting from the words. Once you know that, the music is easy. Focusing on writing titles, at least as an exercise (Nashville style). Focusing your writing is the hardest and most important part. From the lyrics, working on chords and melodic content. What do the words suggest? What resonated with you?”
Work with Kaden on coaching for stage and/or film/tv. This work is tailored to the students’ needs, but you can expect to have access with Kaden on: Monologue coaching, audition prep, scene work, and/or role prep.
“We will use Meisner technique, an inside-out approach, and the text work and theatre games used by the Shaw festival. Students can also bring in classical work, and we will work on Shakespeare as well. We will also look at technical aspects of the text (iambic pentameter, vocabulary, verse vs. prose, etc). The goal, however, is to take acting out of the technical and into the natural, let’s make it natural and easy like everyday speech. Students can expect to dive into their text, aiming to understand every beat. We will work toward grounded and authentic performance where the student feels free to make different choices every time they come to it in rehearsal, auditions, or performances.”

KADEN is an actor, singer, composer, and writer who crosses genres as creator and performer. Recent theatre credits include: Dion: a rock opera (Coal Mine Theater), Cabaret (Ovation), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Sh-Boom (Drayton Entertainment); Almost a Full Moon (Citadel Theatre); One Day (Segal Centre, Playwrights’ Workshop Mtl); It’s a Wonderful Life, Naked Radio, Classic Country Roads (Chemainus Theatre Festival); Little Women, Candide, Fiddler on the Roof (NUOVA). Do you offer online singing lessons?
Yes! all of our music teachers are available for online lessons including online singing lessons. While we mostly offer private singing lessons, we also have group classes online that EVS students can access for low cost.
How do you pick your coaches?
They have to sing. Ha! Ok yeah its a lot more in depth than that. We look for artists who have technical skills – whether singing or music production, it doesnt matter they have it down pact- and then that extra something. Every musician is a working professional in their field. They coach because we asked them to, but their full time gig is their art.
These artists have been musicians for more than several years- they have dedicated their life to their art. Going beyond a “music teacher” we look for an “artist” and make them available to the general public for lessons. The third factor we look for is individuals who have an aesthetic, a brand that is getting noticed in their field and in Canada.
We want voice students to feel inspired by their teacher. When we find an interesting artist, we look at all of their creative output, their skills on stage, their technique, and what makes them unique.

Our artists who teach are versatile musicians. You will find piano, and guitar lessons, music theory, music production, beat boxing, and songwriting classes on our list of services.
Can a beginner take classes?
Of course. All of our teachers are happy to work with beginners. Yes we are a school dedicated to the highest level of the performing arts, but the starting point of your skills doesn’t matter! Take lessons just because you have always enjoyed learning and want to challenge yourself. Or take lessons to try your hand at entering the world of music performance and become a musician. Wherever you are at and whatever your goals- we got you.
Do you offer classical music lessons?
Absolutely. We can work with you on classical guitar, music theory, classical voice (opera), and we have a hookup with classical piano teachers around the city.
