Canadian schools have consistently had their funding cut for music over the past decade. Many Montreal kids do not have music programs at all in their school, we think this is heartbreaking. What Is The Benefit of Putting Your Child In Singing Lessons?
Many parents decide not to put their children in kids voice classes or piano lessons because they don’t believe they will practice. This may be true, but as their teacher, it is our job to make them feel encouraged and provide the opportunity for them to be autonomous in their learning. Even if your child hates practicing, if they enjoy their lesson there is value in music lessons. Think of it as compounded interest: If every week they spend an hour with a teacher, over the course of 10 years they will retain a strong foundation in rhythm, note reading, sight reading music, matching pitch, and healthy vocal technique.
Many teenagers start singing lessons or piano lessons because they develop an interest after seeing a singer/songwriter they admire. However, if they had started lessons at a younger age, at the time this desire is lit to really develop their skills, they would be years farther ahead instead of starting from scratch. This is why our teachers combine non-judgmental support with manageable challenges. If a student practices every day and loves it, they will improve at singing and piano faster. However, if they never practice, we still use the time with them to push them just a bit farther, because we see the big picture: Kids retain a lot of knowledge through adolescence that they will later appreciate immensely as teens and young adults.

Each singing teacher at Express Voice Studio sets their own rate, but the price will range from 35$ for a half hour as the option for cheap singing lessons to 90$ for an hour for the most expensive teachers.
