Nika, an independent singer and performer hailing from Ukraine, embarked on her musical journey at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music named after R.M. Glier. There, she honed her skills in singing, coaching, dancing, and acting.
During her student years, she joined a local rock band where she served as the lead singer and even wrote their own music. Together, they toured across Ukraine, captivating audiences at the country’s biggest festivals.
Following her rock band days, Nika formed a cover band, gracing various events and venues across Ukraine. Their musical journey even took them to China, where they performed in restaurants and private events.
Nika’s passion for dancing and acting led her to explore new horizons as a production singer on cruise ships. On the ship’s theaters, she showcased her versatile talent, spanning genres from rock to musical theater. She sang pop music, danced alongside professional dancers, and assumed diverse characters, from Ursula in “The Little Mermaid” to Wednesday in “The Addams Family.” She even dazzled as part of a circus show, performing on an aerial hoop and a moving stage alongside skilled acrobats. Nika’s multilingual prowess allowed her to sing in Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, Italian, and French.
I put out records as an independent artist, I can help students navigate the following: the process of finding their style, connecting with other artists, finding a producer and a band, how to organize a show,etc. When I started as an independent artist this process was so difficult and I wouldn’t have been able to navigate without my own mentors. There was so much misinformation that created much more stress rather than support. I personally have found the most success in my music by connecting energetically to my art. It has guided me to the place I am in now. I can help students who need this guidance and help them weed out all the information out there often used to exploit independent artists. I can help them focus on the joy and energy in music rather than the ‘hustle’ to help them build their music career with fun, presence and confidence.

The location of voice teaching studios can vary as each artist teacher works out of their private studio space. Many voice teachers have their own private studios, while others may offer lessons in music schools, community centers, or online through virtual platforms. To prepare for your first voice lesson, bring an open mind and eagerness to learn. You may want to have a notebook for taking notes and recording exercises, wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement, and consider bringing a recording device to capture your lessons for practice at home. Each artist teaches out of their own physical space, so as our roster of artists grow, the number of teaching locations in any area of the city will grow! Call us if you are looking for East York music lessons and are unsure of what area the best teacher would be in.
Prices will range for East York Singing Classes and all Music Lessons in Toronto based on the artist. Each artist sets their own rate, so you will find a vast range of cost. In this area of the city, the artists we have on our roster range from $75/hour-$120. We also offer half hour lessons and 45 minutes lessons. Additionally, you have the freedom to come for lessons- whether it be guitar lessons for singers or specifically east york singing lessons- whenever it suits your budget and schedule.
Absolutely. Almost all of our teachers offer music lessons online. Please get in touch to verify if you are unsure whether a class could work online. Private Singing Lessons East York definitely work online! Many singers work online with their teachers around the world.
Songwriting classes would also work online, but perhaps our East York songwriting lessons would be best in person of the time to get comfortable with your teacher and allow a vulnerable place to emerge from which to write your music!
While songwriting and singing go hand in hand, singing lessons will focus on technique, style, improvisation vocally, and playing with aesthetic. Songwriting lessons will incorporate instruments, music theory, lyricism, and improvising vocally over this.
